This application was created to address the various issues with utilizing Word Documents and Excel spreadsheets to keep track of attendants who attended sessions that were part of the hosted cohort events. The issue was, whenever there were sessions for the events, the attendants’ supervisors had to print out paper copies of the sign-up sheets for the day of the sessions of the events from both Word and Excel programs, which increases paper, printing, and electrical costs.
Solution
A solution was derived from the inefficiency of managing events and check-in sheets that would greatly reduce the time, cost, and increased productivity of managing attendants through the usage of an attendants sign-up Appsheet application. The purpose of the attendant’s application is, to keep track of people who signed-up during the day of the sessions scheduled. The application prevents the same people who signed-up for the sessions from signing up twice during the same day. This application has an Excel CSV export feature where the personnel can select a date range of multiple days to a single day of the past attendants to be exported out to third party application like Growth Zone.

Capabilities:
- Ability to export date range or a single day of past attendants to a Excel CSV file to be imported into third-party software.
- Prevents duplicate sign-ups by the same people that signed-up during the day of the sessions of the events.
- Ability to create new contacts who would later be attending sessions of the events.
- Ability to create new events and sessions with duration during the day (sessions only).
- Ability to view monthly calendar down to the day of the hosted cohort sessions.
- Ability to create, modify, and add key aspects of the organization types, organizations, schedulers, and much more.
Development
This took a good week to plan, design, test, and deployed the Appsheet Check-in Application to the company. This was a great project that was worked on to ensure that the business process was streamlined for check-ins to exporting the required CSV data to third-party application like Growth Zone. The method used was Agile methodology as new features and ideas comes into play.
Conclusions
This was second business application project worked on that utilized Appsheet’s database, scripting, and Appsheet’s web-based integrated development environment (IDE) using low-code methodologies and Agile best-practices to carefully design and implement new features into the business application on Appsheet.
